whew are we busy!

a weekend workshop, August 10-12, focusing on improving governmental transparency through Web 2.0 technology. This event will bring together selected experts on social networking, Internet identity, and politics to collaborate on a common approach towards community-driven transparent government.

Our first goal is to put the federal budget on the web with a community-generated database of government information and an underlying social network to provide reputation and trust. In order to do this, we need to agree on the technical standards that would allow citizens to participate using an existing social network identity from a participating network.
