Your Donation May Be Tax Deductable

Hello all, a word from the treasurer here.

The League of Technical Voters is a 501(c)3 organization.  Because of this, donations to the League receive favorable tax treatment--this usually means that your donation to the League will be deductable when it comes time to fill out your tax return.

 May be?  Usually?

Technically, yes.  May be, usually.  Just like any donation to a charitable organization.  For full details read up on it at irs.gov [1], talk to a tax professional, or maybe talk to a tax-software package (if it talks back, let me know).

By the way, the League is an excellent place to get rid of any extra tax refund you may have received--it's the gift that keeps on giving.  Maybe, usually, donating to the League can increase your refund next year.

Another good place is a retirement fund, but that's a subject for a different blog.

Donate using that link on the right.  It's very easy.
