Community sourced material and accuracy

I was reminded recently of this article http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/4530930.stm where Wikipedia.org  was found to be as accurate as Encyclopedia Britannica in a Nature magazine study.

I would honestly argue that Wikipedia is more accurate than EB if you look farther and read the discussion behind the first page esp on any contested articles.   This is a goal of ours in the design of the Transparent Federal Budget.  We don't get the wonderful framework of "does this belong in an encyclopedia?"  We have to create a new method of framing.  Ours will be dual transparency and reader-beware.  You can clearly see the sources of information and decide on the accuracy for yourself.  In a political framework, we think it is key to fostering productive discussion.
